The Ultimate Amangiri Guide: Our 4-Day Itinerary & Insider Tips
Brandon and I just got back from our first year anniversary trip to Amangiri and, let me tell you, it lives up to the hype!! I can't think of a more perfect place for a milestone celebration. This ultra-private and secluded desert sanctuary in Southern Utah feels like it was designed for intentional moments. We found it to be the ideal setting to reflect on our first year of marriage, soak in the stillness, and explore one of the most beautiful landscapes in the U.S.
We visited in mid-November, expecting it to be chilly… but it was perfection! Picture crisp mornings with wood burning fires, warm afternoons, zero crowds, and glowing desert sunsets; it had all of those. I honestly think November might be the best month to visit. If you can, avoid peak summer when temperatures and crowds (off-resort) can be extreme.
After experiencing it firsthand, we realized that it can feel overwhelming for someone who's never been there before. To help navigate all the destination has to offer, I put together The Perfect 4-day Amangiri Itinerary, plus my honest take on what not to miss, where to eat, and how to make the most of your stay.
It's undeniably a splurge, but the rates do include full board, which means all meals are included throughout your stay. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and non-alcoholic beverages are covered, so you can order freely without worrying about à-la-carte pricing. Alcohol, spa treatments, and excursions are additional, so keep that in mind.
All the info you need for an incredible stay is below so let us know when you want to book your first (or next) Amangiri visit! Don't forget to check out our other blog on how to create a special Anniversary trip for you and your partner HERE :)
Why Amangiri Is So Special?
Amangiri is all about contrast: minimalist design meets dramatic landscapes, modern architecture carved into ancient stone, and ultra-luxury paired with deep stillness. Every inch of the property is intentional, from the warm lighting to the quiet pathways to the way your suite feels like part of the canyon. I left feeling like Amangiri is a sensory immersive experience. No matter where you are on property, the natural sounds, smells, sights and tastes make you truly feel like you’ve left the world behind.
Highlights of the property include:
Suites with private pools and panoramic desert views
A world-class spa inspired by Navajo wellness traditions
Stunning design that blends into the landscape
Exceptional dining with rotating themes at Camp Sarika
Complimentary daily movement classes
Full board inlcuded (alcohol is additional)
Endless private excursions (slot canyons, boating, Via Ferrata, hot-air ballooning)
Who Amangiri Is Perfect For:
Couples- Especially anniversaries, honeymoons, proposals, reconnecting trips. Privacy + romance + bucket-list activities.
Luxury Travelers- If you enjoy curated experiences, quiet luxury, design, and high-touch service, this is your place.
Adventure Seekers (But Make It Luxe)- Hiking, Via Ferrata climbs, Lake Powell boating, heli-exploring… all paired with five-star amenities.
Wellness & Reset Trips- Daily movement classes, desert quiet, spa rituals, and intentional architecture make it ideal for a mind/body reset.
Travelers Who Want to Disconnect- No noise, no crowds, no clutter. Just nature, wellness, and true stillness.
Main Resort vs Camp Sarika: Which one is Right for you?
One thing that surprises many first-time visitors is that Amangiri actually has two distinct areas you can stay in: the Main Resort and Camp Sarika. Both are stunning, but they offer very different atmospheres and knowing the difference helps you choose the perfect fit.
Main Amangiri Resort:
The main resort is the iconic, architectural masterpiece you’ve seen in photos—sleek lines, dramatic desert views, and that famous pool wrapped around a sandstone monolith.
Best for:
Couples
Honeymoons & anniversaries
Travelers who want quiet luxury and a more serene atmosphere
Anyone seeking the classic “Amangiri experience”
Camp Sarika
Camp Sarika is a luxury tented retreat just a short drive (or walk) from the main property. Think private plunge pools, fire pits, and a more nature-immersive experience, while still being very Aman.
Best for:
Families
Travelers wanting more privacy or separate sleeping spaces
Guests who enjoy a “camp-inspired” feel with elevated amenities
Longer stays where having extra space is a perk
Best Time of Year to Visit Amangiri:

July – August: Very hot (100°F+). Visually beautiful but better suited for heavy pool/spa days and early morning excursions.
