Best luxury hotels in Lake Tahoe

I just returned from a winter escape to Edgewood in Lake Tahoe and absolutely fell in love with the 154-room boutique hotel! There are three luxury hotels located in Lake Tahoe (I explained below & book them all) but all around, I have to say the Edgewood is my FAVORITE in the area and you’ll see why below!

Why I love it

Edgewood Tahoe is more than an alpine Lodge, more than an acclaimed golf course, more than a serene spa. It is a setting for inspiration & a catalyst for adventure.

The hotel has the freshest vibe while beautifully decorated with cozy touches and mountain feels. When you walk into the great room with floor to ceiling windows of the lake you know that you have arrived to a serene experience.

I loved that the resort has a plethora of included experiences which really elevates your stay. I was here in the winter and they had a Snowshoe + Champagne experience where you explore the surrounding area by snowshoe and are able to spend time at the Veuve Clicquot yurt. It’s free of charge when you book it prior to your visit!

Additionally, from November 27 through March 28, the Edgewood gives guests the opportunity to savor nightly smores and a morning wellness cart in the Great Room, which is a spread of fresh juices and delicious muffins.

Spa

The fabulous spa offers an escape to utter tranquility and boasts highly-trained therapists, there to provide optimal relaxation. I HIGHLY recommend Ryan; he is the lead and was absolutely incredible. The pool is also open year-round, so it can be enjoyed anytime you decide to visit. Not only is it set-up perfectly, but it also provides an unforgettable view, worth a trip itself.

Location and dining

You can easily access the resort by flying into Reno airport which is an hour away or if you’re flying into the California side, Sacramento airport is about 2 hours way. It’s a great spot for Northern California quick getaways or a nice drive from Southern California or Vegas! The hotel is located in South Lake Tahoe, super close to the Heavenly Resort and the town is filled with restaurants and shops. It’s also located on a legendary golf course, has direct lake and beach access and includes multiple gourmet dining options on the property.

My Recommendation

Book a Lake View room when you’re deciding on which room category view, there’s something special about waking up with the sparkling lake each morning.

  • Ice skate on the property’s rink from November 25- April 18

Things to do in the Summer

  • Golf on the Edgewood’s legendary course

Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe

This hotel is amazing for families! I love to send them here as they do a great job with hosting both parents and little ones. They also offer picturesque cottages on the water, creating a fairytale-like vacation. It’s located in incline village Nevada side.

Both of these hotels are a bit older than the Edgewood, which is four years old and very modern, with an incredibly hip vibe.
